Typical Proposal for Support in the Preparation of a Measurement & Analysis Plan

Context

If you are looking to:

With the support of a senior Alcyonix Consultant using a Goal, Question, Metrics (GQM) approach, standard templates and web based analysis and reporting tools, you can go live with your Measurement and Analysis Plan in a matter of weeks.


Duration

Two weeks (10 business days) to establish the initial plan. 1-2 days per key performance indicator with respect to management questions that need to be addressed by the measurement plan. 1-2 days training on the tools in support of the plan. A block of deployment/support days depending on the size of the implementation.

Activities Conducted by Alcyonix

Alcyonix assigns a senior consultant to work on site with your organization to document a Measurement and Analysis plan.

The on site activities include:

  • Discussions with the assigned point of contact (POC) person to identify Directors, Senior Management, and Project Management staff to be interviewed with respect to High Level business and project specific objectives which drive the Measurement & Analysis Plan
  • A series of interviews to clarify business objectives, document questions which the measurement plan must address and understand the existing infrastructure (data collection and reporting tools) 
  • A Validation meeting with the (POC) and management staff on a draft Measurement and Analysis Plan
  • Presentation of the final Measurement and Analysis Plan to Management
  • Support activities including training for practitioners

Activities Conducted by the Client

  • Identification of point of contact
  • Participation in defining the scope of the mandate with Alcyonix
  • Participation in the interviews and analysis with Alcyonix (chosen participants: at least one person)
  • As an option, if desired by the sponsor, participation in the synthesis and estimates of the on site activities for the purpose of documenting the Measurement and Analysis Plan
  • Provide feedback to Alcyonix through participation in a validation session (approximately 3 hours for the POC and the Sponsor; other participants may attend)
  • Attend related training
  • Identification of existing infrastructure (tool set) and interfaces for a web based analysis and reporting tool
  • Approve the Measurement and Analysis Plan

Client Commitment

Commitment from Sponsor is critical to the success of the Measurement and Analysis plan. Therefore, the Sponsor must commit to participate as described above and to assign a point of contact and participants who are competent and available to accomplish the activities described above.
