Arts

In addition to its commitment towards professional excellence, Alcyonix would like to incorporate a glimpse of imagination by supporting artistic endeavours in Quebec.

Who influenced us in this decision to introduce local artists on our web site?

As a tribute to his impressive actions in supporting local artistic production we have decided to follow in the footsteps of Daniel Langlois. He is the founder of both Softimage (now owned by Avid), of the Ex-Centris Complex, which is dedicated to independent films and new technologies, and of the Daniel Langlois Foundation. He has indeed inspired our desire to encourage artistic creation, for as long as our finances will allow it.

Humbly but determinedly, Alcyonix will follow this initiative by supporting artistic experiences and local creators. We hope you share this sentiment and will want to join us in encouraging them.

A Few Works of Art

Here, Alcyonix presents the work of a Quebec artist who is a long-time colleague in the information technology domain, François Guilbault.

"The earth is blue like an orange" (Paul Éluard)

La Terre est bleue Company was founded in 2003 by the choreographer / interpret Caroline Laurin-Beaucage and the composer / musician Nicolas Basque. This teaming took place through cooperation on several projects. La Terre est bleue focuses on the relationship between the choreographic manner and the sound universe in order to build a dynamic and accomplice language nurturing the evolution of these two art forms. This vision materializes in the creation of pieces combining choreography and sound design / composition in full symbiosis.
The next piece from La Terre est bleue finds its inspiration in the theme of memory, both individual and collective.
